yeah, underclock the cpu... making it run cooler which also doesn't require fan operation so often... heat causes fan to turn on which initially produces more heat to dissipate the heat later... or get an external cooler but thats like adding 2 or 3 more fans... (defeats the purpose?) lower the processing power to a point where it performs the same while using less power and then the fan shouldn't turn on every 10 seconds... what proc. do you have?

Update to the newer bios and the fan constantly runs though at a lower speed. I'm using 2.10 and I much prefer it to the sporadic and louder whirring that I had prior to this.

The air that comes out is lukewarm at best which makes me wish I could tell it to let it get hotter, but then I think about it and realize that it's really quiet already so I'd rather just have consistent noise levels.

A couple of things that I do:
    - Use BIOS 207, it's got a higher thermal limit before fan comes on
    - Undervolting
    - Use notebook cooler

Fan seldom comes on if at all.

    or if you're really adventurous :) :
(Warning: This WILL void your global warranty)
    - Open up your machine and use a tiny bit Arctic Silver between your heatsink and CPU... supposed to lower temps by quite a bit. (Find some tutorials on the internet)
