I'm looking for some drivers for my A8JP on a windows xp x64 installation. I have vista x64 available, but cannot use it for some things I am working with. Any thought on where I might find some X64 drivers for xp for at least the major components? Not so worried about things like the card reader or web cam etc.

I did have Windows XP x64 running on my A8Jp for two hours. Drivers weren't really friendly but i managed to get most of them installed (except for camera, card reader, and a couple of extra accessories. But then the power management did not work...only had 2 hours worth of battery life.

Seeing this thread gives me hope. To go back to XP x64 once again!

Lots of people seem to be posting this question. Evidently the Vista experience is a terrible one for a lot of folks.

If your notebook came pre-installed with Vista, you are really out of luck. You can hope that XP recognizes most of your hardware on its own, but it probably won't. The alternative (albeit a bit tedious) would be to search for the XP drivers to all your missing hardware online.

What about the video driver? Have you found anything for ATI x1700 xp 64bit? I cannot find anything to use.

In fact, I think that is my biggest problem, because I think your right, planetamd64 has most of the drivers that I need. It's just this stupid ATI video card driver that im having trouble with. If I know how to edit the INFs to make it run with an x1700 mobity, that might work, but no luck so far -_-
