In all descriptions on websites, they show bluetooth. On the computer's hotkey it saids bluetooth, but there none? Anyone know why? It could come in handy for me now but I don't know if I have it or not.

There was initially a version of the A8js sold mainly through newegg and a few other resellers that did not include bluetooth. It was later replaced by a version that did have bluetooth. So your's may or may not. When and where did you buy it from?

You don't know how what works?

Also, if you bought it from newegg, there's a good possibility you don't have built-in bluetooth, depending on when you purchased it.

How do you know that there's none? Is the bluetooth driver installed? Is there any bluetooth icon on your taskbar tray?

I meant that I brought it at Newegg and didn't know how'd the bluetooth work on the machine.

I purchased this early May. 5/18/07

I don't think that I have bluetooth because there is not really a program or anything that I can use it with.

I checked the hardware manager, there is one with an exclamation point. It is a usb device. Can that be that bluetooth?

I have a phone icon but thats about it. The hotkeys with wireless, and etc. includes a bluetooth button. Whenever I press it is saids bluetooth on and bluetooth off. But nothing else happens.

a8js sold prior to nov 2006 did not have bt. to make sure turn the laptop over. If it has a bluetooth sticker then it has bluetooth. if no sticker then there is no bt. we made a video with instrcutions how to add internal bt module to a8 series notebooks. we also sell the modules for integration. check the stick and find the videos section of asus laptops

I do in fact have blue tooth, but I don't have a driver for XP.

My school gives free Windows, so I tried Vista and bluetooth was autmatically installed for Vista. I could use my devices. But some esentials programs that I need are not compatiable with Vista so I have to go back to XP. Now I am in XP but with no bluetooth driver. When I press the bluetooth hotkey, "new hardware" pops up. Does anyone know where to get the XP driver? I tried to find it but couldn't. On the Asus site, the only driver for bluetooth is for Vista.

What exactly do you want to use the bluetooth for? Are you trying to use a BT mouse with it or do you want to pair a BT headset with it.... Just curious. For me, all I did was go under All Programs - Bluetooth -Bluetooth Manager and it installed the drivers automatically. I had previously uninstalled it, I think.
