The SC is $100 cheaper, is 1.8GHz instead of 2.0, nVidia GeForce 8400M instead of the Go7700 512mb, bigger hard drive, 802.11n..

seems like a much better laptop, aside from the slower processor...are these 2 aesthetically identical?

Any recommendations between the 2 ?

my best advise would be to look for other peoples reviews on either laptop. I have heard some things about the nVidia 8400M being equivalent to one of the nVidia 7 series graphics cards and I'm not sure if it was the 7700 but I do know theres a discussion on this forum about it.

all round I think the SC might beat the other ASUS laptop.

The nvidia 7700 is much more powerful then the 8400GS.

the biggest thing about the a8 series that i have heard are build quality issues, ranging from subpar quality screens to the hinges wearing out too quickly. granted, you do have a 2 year warranty that should allow you to get these things fixed.
