Vista RC2 works BEAUTIFULLY apart from a couple of minor issues. I'm enjoying using it on my A8Jm except for one problem...

The Vista ATK0100 (or whatever the heck the file name is) that gets downloaded from Windows Update does a marvelous job of putting those neat images at the top left of my screen like it does in XP, but the only ones that actually do anything are the brightness up and down. NONE of the other hot keys work (Wireless, Mute, Vol + and Vol -).

This is somewhat beyond me and rather than banging my head against the wall, I figured I'd ask if anyone here with a little more experience could help me out.

Does the A8Jm have the same audio as the F3Jm?

audio has always worked for me in RC1. you just have to install the audio drivers before anything else.

i can confirm the volume function keys dont work. annoying yes but the taskbar isnt too far away.

also i noticed that on vista my internet connection is faster. can say why but i've tried booting to xp and doing a speed test from the SAME server on both installations and it was getting about 1mbit compared to 3+.

Do you have Webcamera and Bluetooth in your version ? I have F3JA I dont know if it is same webcam and bluetooth, Please if your's work tell me th procedure to do so as i am not able to make them work.

Sound work correctly under RC2 5744, you have to delete soudn card from device manager, reboot and check if it is delted then install the beta vista version of realtek drivers and they work good :) (there are 2 line of material for sound delete both)

Pulp, where did you get the A8Jm audio drivers? They're not on the asus website, and the ones off the CD don't install.

I got the ATK0100 from windows update. Found the realtek vista beta drivers, but they don't work. I've got sound through my USB speakers though.

EDIT: nevermind, i got it working off the CD.
