Hey guys, I just plugged in my camcorder for the first time to my A8Jm, and its not responding. Is there anything I have to do to enable it? Device manager doesnt show any problems. I know the camcorder works, because my desktop recognises it just fine. However, I am using an adaptor when plugging it into my laptop (Big to small adaptor).

if your device manager says everything is in tip top shape, and you know the camera works it sounds like the adapter may be bad or not the right kind.

can you test the adapter on your desktop (PC ^^, atfirst when you said desktop I was confusing thinking windows desktop)

If you can post a screenshot of your device manager and your firewire that may help, just to make sure its really there and you dont think you see the right thing when its really something else.

Got it working, turns out the adaptor might have been faulty!
