    A8Jm from Portable One (MX) superior ?

    Just reading the specs for the Portable One MX, and I see a couple of interesting things that my regular A8Jm doesn't seem to have:

    - It says Video Conferencing Camera with Motion Detection Security
    Motion detection? really? the camera looks the same to me....

    - IMPORTANT: Instant keys (Bluetooth, wireless, email, internet, P4Gear, touchpad lock)
    Mine only has BT, wireless, P4Gear, Splendid and a useless InstantON. Out of those 5, only 3 work. Theirs have 6, and it seems all are useful. Dunno if ASUS made a special case for their version.

    - User upgradeable video card in the description...
    Really ??????????

    - Under camera there seems to be an option either 0.35 or 1.3 MP

    - Under battery... 6 cell, but either 3500/4800 maH, 35/53 Wh
    Is that a choice, or just minimum/maximum capacity? (sorry.. no idea about battery ratings)

    - Built in TPM (Trusted Platform Module)
    This I dunno if I have... what's it supposed to do and how does it work anyway?


    Anybody know if ASUS did make some special modification for the Portable 1 MX? Especially those instant keys.......

    Doubt it. I recall Ivan mentioning that they had to import A8jm's from Canada, just to get the units, and they bought it at a higher price, thus the price of the MX.

    Most motion detection is software based its the same camera. Its not any better than yours dont worry. And you are not going to be able to replace the video card. There are very very few laptops where thats possible. and you have the same 6 cell battery. maybe they found a way to rewrite the code for certain keys but they are the same. Portable one is a great reseller great service. But they make things sound alot better than they are. Fancy explanations for options that are no different.

    Ok, good to know :)

    I just find it weird that they would have 6 buttons and mine only has 5. Prob mis-print then.
