I got vista business through MSDNAA a few days ago.
it recognised everything except the sound.
the problem is it thinks the sound is working.
under "plackback devices" it only shows "digital optical device"
and i don't have a receiver to send. I just want regular sound to work.
I tried going to the realtek website and got the latest vista (R156) intel HDA drivers, but they don't work

    any ideas?

Hows the performance of Vista Business on the A8Jm? Does it slow down on the Flip 3D? Does it ever slow down? How about CPU usage and RAM?

I have an A8Jm, just bought Vista Ultimate, and am having some fun... a few problems... the sound being one of them. Just about to try the above mentioned fix.

Other than that, the Flip 3D works great, as does the entire experience... much much less resources than Windows XP. Keep in mind that I upgraded to 2GB of RAM, and I am sure this makes a good diference. I will let you know about the sound. Trying it now.

Flip 3D works great; maybe on power saver mode using batter it stutters slightly. I only main complaint I have it loading time; it loads quick most of the time, but sometimes the hard drive will be active 3-4 mins after you boot up, slowing down your operations. I believe the 1GB is actually causing some slow down, and I'll upgrade during the summer.

i've been running ultimate for close to two months now, everything runs great except for the hotkeys. I tried the drivers in the other thread posted but they didnt really work.
Power4Gear Extreme sort of works but not well. I got rid of it. The only issue i have is if i unplug the power cable the cpu doesn't clock down to 997Mhz unless i restart. I basically have to restart to change the frequency.

Hi: I have just installed vista on release over xp and i did not like all the driver issues on startup but i had sound, so did a complete fresh install all good except video and audio ( none ) downloaded nvidia driver from laptop to go and video seems good. I had a hard time with audio tryed different drivers no luck The one on this thread finally worked even if it took a while to download thanks. I have been using vista last two days with games, video, photo internet etc all good so far. I can't get my MSI bluetooth to work yet , but the sound was really frustrating for two days. I can;t connect my AXIM with bluetooth to sync with outlook 2007 oh well. Overall I am impresed with install.
