I bought an A8JM asus from MilestonePc, great service :) anyways unfornuately I had to go away before it arrived. I just want some advice so i can pass on to my wife about the webcam and mic, where are the settings and where are they located and what options are there for the webcam and mic, sorry to ask as I am not home to see it and find out myself.

the mic is next to the Fn key and its very sensitive, which is a good thing. I was just playing cs and they could clearly hear me so thats a good thing.

Depending on the im program you will be using it will readily detect both teh cam and the mic so you shouldnt have any worries.

well i use msn and through msn u can set the brightness/contrast etc. However the defaulst settings are perfect. For low light you can change the exposure and white balance so you could tweak those by selecting teh 'camera' tab after going into webcam settings.

I've used the mic and camera for both MSN Messenger and Skype, and they both worked right off the bat with no configuration at all.

The camera settings will likely be within whatever program you use rather than a Windows setting. There is no camera utility installed, and the only mic configuration is in the control panel under sounds & audio devices.

Its just a 0.4MP cam, so the quality is low. However enough for web calls. Haven't used the mic yet, but its position on the extreme left of the lappy, is kinda weird.
