    Here is my problem.
I've been waiting to buy a laptop for 5 months... awaiting something perfect, within my price range. When A8Jr came out this week I noticed how it fit me perfectly. Here is what i've been looking for:
    14.1" ws wxga+
    c2d t5500 or faster
    2 gig ram
    120gig hd
    webcam
quality is important to me, and i want at least a 2 year warranty.
All of this for at most $1800 cdn.

Now i'm pretty much ready to buy it, i'll upgrade the ram on it, i'm waiting for milestonepc to get back to me on potential availability.
BUT - would it be worth it to wait it out for the v2?
The thing is I can really use a new notebook ASAP, i've put it off as long as possible, it is now time to buy.
What would u guys do?

If you will not be using this notebook heavily for gaming. I don't see much benefit in waiting. I would go for it.

nope not a gaming notebook, every day heavy office / internet type use... maybe some mild gaming once in a blue moon, but nothing heavily graphic intensive.

I would say go with the a8jr or a8js. They seem to have better graphics cards for gaming and are cheaper. On the other hand the v2(je) is slightly lighter.

Newegg.com just got the a8jr and its selling for $1250 with Vista.

Ya i'm in canada though... so i'm waiting for milestonepc to find out if they can get it for me, or i'll order from NCIX.
I just need to know what kind of ram I can pt into it so that i can get it with 2 gigs. Any ideas? if you can link me to it on ncix.com that would be great.

The A8JR is a total flop! I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. For $50 more you get the much better A8JP.

A8Jp is not available in Canada. The closest is the A8Js and that is almost $500 more then the A8js and in my opinion is not worth it for a different gpu and slightly faster cpu.

just so you know, there is no way that the v2 is going to be under $1800 cdn. makes your decision easier. ;)

why is it a flop? the only reason that is giving me lots of doubts is the X2300 GPU. is there other factors that adds to the cons of A8Jr?

Well, I consider it a flop because it is only about $50 cheaper than the A8JP that has much more powerful CPU and GPU. But, if you're in Canada and the A8JP is not an option, then I guess this can't be taken into consideration.
