here's the situation, when i am moving the computer, there seems like having a screw rolling inside the laptop. and I can hear the rolling sound coming out of it. That's so weird.

You mean when you shake it, you can hear something rattling around?
If so, you can either open the laptop and see what's wrong.(See your dealers warranty, ASUS's global warranty permits this - but make sure you won't brake any of the stickers because they will void the warranty)
Or you can send it to the support.

I was been told by ASUS rep, the reason that caused the rolling sound is because of the switch of the battery. can anyone confirm that please.

The switch of the battery? That doesn't even make coherent sense to me, what switch and what is it doing with the battery?

I'm surprised a bunch of A8Js lovers haven't jumped in on this post, hehe.

    On another note, I love my W3J :) .

I can confirm that the battery switch is in fact a bit loose, but that thing isn't that big of a problem :) It's not going to drop off or anything! A8Js has a really good performance for a laptop this size, at least when it's overclocked :p

My battery switch is a bit loose too but it doesn't rattle. If it irritates you, shove a piece of paper (or something else thats thin) between the switch and case to keep it from moving.

Also what's with overclocking a notebook? People usually underclock/volt them...

Phew, I was offered an A8Js as a replacement for my V6J... to think I might have accepted :shudder:

A8Js is not that bad of laptop.True, it's build quality is worse than W3 series, but many people have reported very good experience from this laptop. And it's a budget laptop, no denying it.If you want something really cool go for V1Jp but you'll have to pay for it.

By overclocking I meant overclocking the geforce go 7700. I can push it up to 520MHz core and 960MHz memory and the temperatures still are not very high even at high stress. I also undervolted the cpu with RMclock utility so that when the cpu is at 2.0 GHz the voltage is 1.025 volts. I'm pretty sure that compensates almost all the increased temperature of overclocked geforce go 7700 :)

My 3dmark scores went up pretty much. I get about 5100 from 3Dmark05 and 3100 from 3Dmark06 and the computer is rock solid. I also tried Windows Vista, but had some random problems with drivers. Performance in Vista with Forceware 101.41 was although pretty much the same as in Windows XP. Some driver bugs although were so annoying that I switched back to XP.

Hope this info helps. There also is some fan control profiles for Notebook Hardware Control, if the constantly running fan irritates someone. You can get 100% quiet fan with them in 2D mode. By the way if you use NHC don't use RMclock at the same time. I can post a little guide here with the NHC acpi files and intructions later today or tomorrow :)
