Got my A8Js yesterday and have been removing and moving files around, and finally got it optimized with an excellent boot time and speed.
I was tweaking my laptop today and for some reason whenever I start up now, Windows media player runs at startup as well, Ive tried using msconfig to look for any modules to remove it, but could not find one. Also i have used adaware and virus scanners to see if it is some sort of glitch within the system to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop it from running at startup?

Did you accidentally move it to your startup folder?
Make sure it's not in Start / All Programs / Startup -

Man that's odd.. I'd ditto the above... but if you're not seeing anything in the msconfig, I don't know.

um, you can literally remove media player in add remove programs.
get vlc player and never look back. -
its not in the startup, and i tried removing it through windows utilities remover but no go, it still comes up.
Ive also noticed that it starts even from hibernation, perhaps that can clear something up? -
Ok i found the problem, turns out that when i cleaned my registry out of some files it somehow caused windows media to open upon startup, luckily I had a backup and just re applied the old registry files. No more Popping up Windows Media.
Thanks for all the help guys! -
****, I guess that wasnt it, it seems to still be occuring, anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

Did you put an mp3 or other music file on the desktop? -
That is weird. removing wmp should um... remove it lol.
You have some sort of seperate wmp thing a seperate sort of start up program then.
can you turn off start up function in its own settings? If not this is a virus theres no program that doesnt let you turn it off or remove it. -
ok it seems to have gone aways again, im thinking that perhaps somehow maybe on startup it seems to be fine, but perhaps when coming out of hibernation its "hitting" the direct media button opening WMP in the process?

wmp is a virus by any reasonable definitition of the word.
