I have a nice pair of speakers for my A8jm at home. But when I take it on the road the integrated speakers is pretty quiet. When I play dvds at max sound, I still have to listen carefully. Is there a secret setting somewhere to amp the sound a bit?

You could download 3rd party software and amplify them, but this would probably distort the sound. It's not really worth the trouble.

I don't suppose someone with experience with both the A8Jm and the W3J can give their opinion on which one's speakers are "louder" and "better". I know it's subjective and depends on what qualities you're looking for and what you're listening to. I wonder why ASUS, and others for that matter, don't put better speakers into their labtops? It can't be more than a few dollars difference at the component level and I'm sure most people wouldn't mind a $10-20 difference at market level.

Yes, its just weird that many new notebook dont have a high enough sound. My old dell seems to have a higher sound speaker. Oh well, nevertheless, its still a kick ass notebook.
