Anyone knows how to disable the touchpad on the a8jm?
-
Control Panel > Mouse Settings > Device Setting Value Tab (or something like that, translated from Chinese) > Check Disable internal pointing device when external USB device is connected (again, loosely translated)
You can also disable it in the BIOS. -
Or you could just press Fn+F9. Boy would it be annoying if that didn't exist; don't know why they don't label it =S
-
Oh ****... I didn't even know that was there.
Although I really don't see why the touchpad needs to be turned off. I use a wireless keyboard at home, and even when I'm using the laptop keyboard, my hand doesn't really touch the touchpad when I'm typing. -

on a sidenote, if the asus one still doesnt allow you to set settings for the touchpad, you can get the updated ones at synaptics.com -
Prof: Do the other Fn-F keys work for you?
IF not, might be the ATK drivers.. -

Fn F9 works for me...

My Fn+F9 stopped working for a while when I installed Logitech Mouseware-Synaptics doesn't play well with other pointing device drivers.
From my experience with my A8Jm you basically have to have all the stuff installed. I don't remember if Synaptics came with a utility, but if it did, install it.

Fn + F9 works now!!! its the touchpad driver.
update: if synatic doesnt startup in you system tray, you can used this feature. =( -

Hmm.. I do have Synaptics in my System tray.. and Fn F9 still works...
