The only one that I have seen that explicitly claims to be compatible with the G1 is the Targus ( http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=APM10US). Targus says tip #16 works with the G1. I just got this tip and hope to test it in the next day or so.

I have tried plugging in other universal power supplies to my G1s. I consistently get a message in the Vista power center that says plugged in and NOT charging and the battery does discharge. Thus, the G1s is expecting something that these universal adapters are not supplying.

Please do test, and let me know, Targus makes a 90W AC/DC adapter that I was looking at as well, but retail was more expensive than the Kensington. Though after looking, the Targus 90W is cheaper street priced.

Well, i can now report that the G1s recognizes the Targus 70 watt adapter. unfortunately, the G1s draws more power than this adapter can supply and the adapter shuts down if the battery is at less than 100% and the computer is on.

i will be trying the 90 watt adapter later tonight.

The Targus APM12US air/auto/AC adapter does work with the G1s. You need to get tip #16 which is not included with the adapter. As far as I can tell, no one stocks this adapter either. However, Targus does have them and you can order from the web. I paid $16 for this tip with next day shipping.

I am glad to have finally found an adapter that works as I wanted a spare. My only disappointment is that the G1s did not work with the most recent Kensington adapter that included a USB poewr port as well. That is a nice design.

    Good luck,
    Ira

That is good news, tip #16 works fine? because on the Targus website it lists it as only being compatible with the 70W adapter, and not the 90W.

Despite what Targus says, tip #16 is indeed working just fine with the 90W adapter.
