The AC adapter for my Z70VA has been acting up lately, intermittently ceasing to work. The green light on the adapter will shut off and my notebook informs me that it has switched to battery mode. I would end up unplugging and replugging the the adapter at each end multiple times, until it started working again. Occasionally, it would only cut power for a split second (the notebook would say that it has switched to battery mode, and then immediately say it has switched to AC mode). It seems to have stopped, but I'm still concerned.

This isn't the first time this has happened. The problem has occurred in different locations, so I think I can rule out a bad power outlet. Has anyone else experienced this? This is my main computer (for business and personal) so I'm dreading the thought of sending anything in for repair.

If the light on the adapter is fluctuating, it's not the notebook. Sounds like the connections in the power brick (either at the outlet cord hookup or something internal) are starting to or have already gone bad.

You need a new power brick - that will solve the problem. Here's a link to the z70v PS at BTOTech.

Yeah, probably it's just an interrupted cable due to repeated folding and unfolding for storage.

Thanks guys. Looks like it's time for a new brick.
