    Hello all,

I'm trying to set my ASUS laptop so that it doesn't go into standby or hibernation when I close the screen.

If I go into Power Options under the Control Panel (under the Advanced tab) I can change 'When I close the lid of my portable computer' from 'Stand by' to 'Do nothing'. This works fine until I shut the laptop down because the next time I power it up again the setting has reverted back to 'Stand by'. Yes, I am hitting Apply before exiting the Power Options screen!

Can somebody please tell me what is over-riding these settings because it's getting very frustrating!

My laptop is an ASUS Pro31F with Windows XP (Service Pack 3). Thanks.
