I know its an older laptop, but while changing the cmos battery, I looked at the Wifi card and thought I would look into an upgrade if possible.. It is a single wire Azurewave 802 b/g/n pci express half mini card.. I know it says its a n, but I never saw anymore than 54mbs when looked at wifi properties. Is there any simple upgrade card I can just plug n play? My wifi router is a Cisco/Linksys E3000, so it is pretty good.

by single wire you mean that only 1 antenna cable is connected to the wifi module itself?

Yes, there is only one wire that connects to the wifi card.

ok then. I only asked because being limited to 54mbps means you're on G rather than N.

as for upgrade, Intel is the way. Centrino 5100 for example.

Centrino is a drop in? Cool. My other laptops and even my phone work better than this laptop. Strange how it only has one wire for the antenna and is able to do N..
