Could anyone tell me which models do ASUS have on its 13" and less widescreen NB category? And please write the CPU and/or the GPU also if you won't mind...
Thx!

The Asus W7J is a 13.3 inch notebook. So is the Asus Z35.
The Asus S6F is an 11 inch notebook, I think. And the W5F is 12 inch. -
have a look at the W7 series in particular the W7j, it's a 13.3" widescreen
it's reviewed here:

Just to give you some, insight into the future, if you are willing to wait, the V2 series is a 14" laptop with a X1450 that has a docking station, if that is what your looking for.
More explanations into what your looking for would help too. If you want more graphical power, you may want to look into the 14" laptop range, featuring the A8js (C2D 2.0Ghz + Go7700) and the W3Jp (C2D 1.66GHZ + X1600). -
I've written down my FAQ, thus, most of people recommended me either an A8 or an W3. No doubt, both of them are strong laptops... But mainly, I want a laptop that slighty looks different from the 15.4"s... (by the size, I mean...) And I don't get to know every laptops that ASUS had that may fulfill my need. So, I need your advice on it... 13" and less... So far I've ended up with W7, S6, Z35 and U5...

If you can afford to go super small, you won't regret the 11" S6f...... however, on the top end of your requirement, the W7j is a powerhouse, but still nice and small at 13.3".

however if you only want 12-13", then you're limited to Nvidia 7400 gpu, because you only have 3 models that fit that category and all three use those GPUs. -

If this guys wants a dedicated graphics card on something 13" or smaller, there isn't a better system than the W7jp..... and for that size, nVidia 7400 is pretty darn good... I wouldn't want anything that created more heat and sucked more power in such a small system anyway.... not sure why anyone else would either.

But speaking of size, lid-cover of ASUS W7 looks slightly bigger than the one Vaio VGN-S460 has (like I said on my Vaio thread). Due to a webcam on the W7? Yes, a cam is a plus for it, but still W7 lid-cover size looks like 'almost' not-a-widescreen at all, compared to lid-cover of the Vaio, which looks like a MacBook lid-cover...
I really demand slimness and lightness and stylishness... Should I buy a Vaio S460? Even just with it's old Pentium M?
I've look up at the U5 also. That one was pretty nice. Except the GMA and no-webcam parts... -
And, aren't there any 12" that use different, better GPU rather than an Intel GMA?
-
Yes, I swear that there are other 12" notebooks aside from the Dell XPS M1210 with a dedicated GPU.
-
Thank you.

Trust me, you don't want a Sony. I've been in a class that practically requires laptop usage and over the last semester, I've personally known of a few Sony Vaio problems. A couple of dell problems too btw.
As for my w7j? Virtually nothing. The palm rest and trackpad gets glossy but that's not much of a concern for me. And yes, the widescreen does look widescreen. -

No, the W7 "looks" like a widescreen... not sure where you could even come up with that even with pictures at hand, but the bezel is the same all the way around, so the proportions stay the same on the footprint of the system.
It's hard to fit a dedicated gpu in a 12"... heck, it's hard to fit it in a 13", but it has been done... they never sell well though, because what are you going to do on a 12" that you need dedicated graphics for? I sometimes ask that about the 13.3", but being it's my current system, and I go a lot of graphics work, I understand...... and I hook the system up to an external monitor a lot as well, but as a system by itself, 10% bigger screen you get over a 12" is really, really noticable and it makes the screen just big enough for gaming on the run... 12" is tough.... and don't get me started about trying to use photoshop on a 12".
Physically you need to allow for enough space for the thermal envelope required for the dedicated gpu... -
Sony products? Slimness? Maybe. Lightness? A little more dubious. Stylishness? In the eye of the beholder.
Mac? Slim? Yes. Light? Not in the 13 inch category.
If you do find something that is slim, light, and stylish WITH a graphics card, put 2K down on an S6 and be done with it. -
Sorry for my English btw... =P
Well, after considering all of your advices, I think I should drop the 12" options... And get a tight hold on the 13" ones...
I think W7 is the best candidate here... -
