ASUS 15.6 Touchscreen offered at Best Buy

Does anyone know anything about it. I cannot find a review for it anywhere. It has a 1920 x 1080 display and but a little heavy at 5.7 lbs. Really wanted to find a touch screen with bigger HD than the standard 500 GB so got pretty excited when I saw this. I just know what to compare it to and my local Best Buy doesn't have one in stock. Thanks.

When I searched the best buy website for 15.6" laptop with Touchscreen, Intel i7 processor, and Backlit Keyboard, this was the only one that came up in the results, so it looks like a good option to go for.

This seems to have just got released and I also could not find it at the Best Buy outlet. There was a smaller ASUS touch screen laptop on display which can give an idea on how the laptop would look like.

A couple of weeks back I was looking for one like this, finding nothing available, I ended up buying "Samsung Series 7 15.6" Laptop: 8GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive,Titan Silver" which does not have touchscreen and HD display. Now I am thinking of retuning this and buying ASUS model. Samsung model has a couple of better things like 1TB hard disk and may be better graphics card, but noting can compensate for touchscreen and HD display. I would like to see suggestions by others.

 

As with any "is this a good laptop" inquiry, it essentially boils down to what you'll be using the laptop for. This has no dedicated graphics, so you won't be able to expect high FPS from any moderate to high-demand gaming. But the i7 it has equipped makes it worth consideration still.

You can get an i5 model with a dedicated graphics card for around the same price or cheaper. It's all up to your needs, though.

 

I bought this laptop a few months ago. Liked everything else as other reviewers have mentioned above except few things. It doesnt have Bluetooth capability. These days most laptops come with Bluetooth 4.0, and you can do whole bunch of things with your smart phone if you own one of those Android smart phones. You can answer calls from your laptop connected via Bluetooth to your Android Smart phone, you can remote control your smart phone etc etc. But this laptop doesn't have Bluetooth.
- Very poor Battery
- There s no HDMI port. You can't connect second monitor if that monitor doesn't have VGA connector. Today's monitors come with HDMI input.
-The other thing that i didnt like was its weight. Too Heavy to carry around.
- And i also realized that the Bus speed wasnt 1600 MHz, it was 1333.
So it lacks most of the common features that home users would seek in a laptop.

 

Best Buy occasionally has a good deal, but $949.99 for this is a little steep for the specs. You can get more features for the same price - if not cheaper - elsewhere.

 

um are you sure you aretalking about the right laptop this is the 15.6" 1080p i7 model mine has bluetooth and a hdmi port
