Hi, i've purchased the above notebook recently.

However, when i try to run warcraft 3 with the GT335M the game will start but the screen will keep flickering.

When i switch to the intel onboard graphics it will run fine.

Have updated the drivers from nvdia and updated directx as well..

Any clues to how I can solve this problem?

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

Quick question - does the flickering occur in other games as well? If not, try play with the in-game video settings and see if the flickering stops. I'd also change your screen's refresh rate and check to see if that helps.

hi, i just tried running dragon age, but i get a black screen for the gt335m. it runs fine on my integrated just like warcraft.

yes i have tweaked the different in game settings, like refresh rates and 32/16bit colour etc, but to no avail.

    hi yzyz89,

i got a friend who has the same notebook but can't get Starcraft 2 to work with GT335M... it goes to the intel onboard graphics.

did u do anything manually to make it work while playing WC3?

as with your flickering, i'd try setting my refresh rates to the same as your windows. if it's at say 60Hz, set the game at 60Hz too even tho there are higher setting selections. try :)

    Hi b.tuned,

I am Jaxomoy friend and I have solved the Optimus switching problem.
If you are using Asus A42JV or also known as K42JV (in European countries),
basically, the factory Nvidia driver is at 197.xx version.

    My Steps:

    0. Create a restore point manually in case you need to rollback the driver.

    1. Download the latest driver for my model.

Download the driver: WHQL Driver 64-bit 258.96 version on Win7/Vista 64-bit

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

    2. Perform clean installation on the latest NVidia driver 258.96. Instruction
on the link below. READ CAREFULLY.

    Board Message

    3. After installation, goto NVidia Control Panel and set to use the dedicated
    NVidia Graphic Processor for Starcraft2.

Refer to below link for tutorial.

    Important note:

For Asus ULxx series that comes with GT335M, please
use NVidia WHQL 257.21 instead rather than the 258.96.

Certain Asus series can't update directly from Ati or Nvidia. You shall try to update from Asus official website.

That is interesting..anyway bro b.tuned does solved his problem.

He has downloaded the international version of Nvidia latest driver 258.96 rather than from NVidia download page that I recommended and everything fall into places.

Do the nvidia packages include the latest intel HD drivers or should those be updated separately?

The Intel HD & NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M driver need to be updated separately.
