I got an ASUS A53SV with G540m + Intel SB HD graphics.... The HDMI out seems to be over Intel graphics, no matter what settings I try the scale is always off and does not fit the screen, the quality is absolute garbage. With VGA everything is perfect and looks amazing, but the problem is I want to utilize the HDMI for easy, clean hookup if I want to output video, etc.

I tried a couple different TVs with the same result, it's not the age of the TV because the one in the living room is like 2010 model LG LED (55LE5400) with latest firmware. All drivers on computer are latest manufacture drivers.

same thing happens with radeon graphics.

it's a software setting you have to change- overscan or underscan.
    set it to 0%

Like I said absolutely no setting I do makes it fit, I sat here for a half hour trying different combinations of custom resolutions and playing with the (lack of) scaling options... Picture looks like garbage, text unreadable, image too big for screen. VGA = perfect. intel graphics and intel graphics settings SUCK!, I wish I could set this up through nvidia control panel. I guess I am stuck with vga + audio cable.

Ok seem to fix the scaling issue, seems the problem was it didn't apply when I hit "apply"... But the quality part is still terrible.
