    hey all ,

i did not see any rules regarding parts requests .

i am fixing the above 15.6" model for a friend of mine .
i am looking for the LCD/lid back and the lcd/display front bezel .
    bezel # : 13N0-KAA0701 / 13GN3C1AP060-1
    lid/back # : 13N0-KAA0E01 / 13GN3C3AP010-1

they do not have to be black ... mix-n-match is ok too .

barring parts in the bone-pile , can anyone point me in the right direction to a decently priced supplier ?
(115 bucks for a used bezel is way beyond decency/understanding - google search)

    thanks

eBay is often the best source for both supply and pricing, though you have to do your research on each individual seller, their return policy (if any), and often times the parts are used.

There are other online outlets that carry spare parts, but they almost always charge more than what an eBay seller lists their parts for. The upside is that the parts are more likely to be new or at least refurbished/recertified, and they are far more likely to offer refunds or exchanges.

Here are some sites you can look into.

    yeppers ...
with ebay and many sellers in general it is a case of "caveat emptor" .
i did find a back shell and front bezel (combo) for a good price ...
it was pretty darned clean for used ... upon close inspection a couple of small scuffs were visible .
yessir ... ready to go ... almost ... it was not a 15.6" flavor "as advertised" .
soooo ... back it goes (as soon as the seller responds to paypal/ebay) .

heck , the colors do not have to match ,,, i can paint them if i need to .

i have been looking around and if i want "new" stuff (read : high-dollar) i can get it with very little problem .

i'll check out the links you provided .

    thanks

That's too bad about the order! Hopefully the return process is painless, or at least proves to be as painless as possible. Happy hunting. :)

yep ... we shall see eventually how *painless* it will be ...
the seller is away until the 26OCT and that is the final day he has to respond .

i did find a bezel at another place ... it should arrive next week , we shall see .
the original lid back has a piece missing out of the top right corner ... about a 3/8" *bite* ...
i can fix this with that two part methacrylate "mender" (devcon makes it) .
mix a little carbon black in it - form , file , sand and solvent gloss it ... bob's yer uncle .

still ... it would have been nice to get a cosmetically acceptable back .
