I have a question about the graphics card on the A6Jc, searched the messageboard and checked the sites that had it on preorder, and I was unable to find the answer.

Is the GeForce 7300 Go 128 bit or 64 bit?

Also, how does the 7300 Go compare to ATI's X1400?

    Thanks.

    The video card in the A6Jc is a Go7300 w/ 64bit memory.

I think the x1400 would be a bit better than the nvidia since it has 128bit memory.

Ok, thanks. I suppose it won't even work for light gaming...

So it should be able to fill up the entire screen with pixels at framerates above 30 fps at low texture quality with older games like HL2, Doom 3, and possibly not yet released RTS games like Supreme Comander?

well considering the screen is only 1280x800 its not going to be that taxed.
also given enuf ram in the laptop, the amount of shared video ram will increase giving you more speed in the games.

Light gaming is the wrong term really... as even integrated graphics solutions can now really do light gaming..... The A6jc is not a gaming rig, but it's a decent solution for cad and 3d work on a budget....

Yeah what Justin said. I'm not all too familiar with the mobile version of that GPU, but I'd shy away from it if you're considering what you listed above as light gaming.

You won't be happy if games jitter or give you that slow-mo feeling. Do the right thing and be a man~! Get a more powerful GPU~! LOL sorry, couldn't resist doing the, oh **** what's that comedian's name again? The indian dude.

    Rick, Ryan, or something, ****~!

Anyhoo' yeah I'd say that GPU is fine for cad work and 3d work like Justin said.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Just to give you some piece of mind, and maybe a better understanding of Video Card performance, check out chaz's great breakdown:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=45650

In his "power rankings" the x1400 comes up many steps above the 7300.

But again, its all about how your going to use it, i'm sure you will make the best choice.
