    Should I replace my ASUS A7D with the Sony Vaio FS515B with this spec:

    RAM: 1024MB DDR2-667MHz
    Hard Drive: 80GB Ultra-ATA
    Screen: 15.4" Widescreen TFT (1280x800 - 16:10) with X-Black Technology
    * Optical Drive: DVD RW Double Layer
    * Graphics: Integrated Graphics supporting 128MB
    * Wireless LAN: 802.11b/g
    * Battery Life (Depending on Use): 3.5 hours
    * Weight: 2.5kg
    o Fast Ethernet 10/100
    o 56k Dial-Up Modem
    o Firewire Port

    I need a smaller screen and laptop!

    What is the A7 config? What are you using the computer for?

    If you're talking buying a new computer, perhaps you should fill in the FAQ. Although that Sony P-M doesn't seem new.

    The systems would seem comparable (although if you game the GMA graphics will hurt), and your use pattern is tame. It appears to be a reasonable trade-off, but depending on the Sony's price you might be better off going with a new budget system (which can be had from some manuf's for as little as $600-700) that still meets your modest needs and yet bring you up to date.
