    ASUS A7K info????

    Hey Guys,
    Had a good root around the forms here and cant see any info on this specific laptops bits and bob's other than a spec so here's a few questions I'v got, but first a little back story.

    Going to college and want a 17+ laptop, saw the A7 series of ASUS stuff ,and came accross the A7K, like it a lot a nd can get it at a good price BUT its comming from germany which means german version of Vista Home Premium and German keyboard. Thats a bit of a problem, I dont speak much german.

    1. Any word on when the A7K is comming to Ireland/Uk or anywhere with an English language as its main language?

    2. Anyone actually got this laptop yet? Does it come with a drivers CD as the ASUS website doesent have any driver downloads available yet? see if it has drives I can simply resintall Vista with my english language disk and use the drivers cd to set up the graphics card, web cam, sound etc, etc without any problems.

    3. How efficent is the ASUS web support site at issuing drivers/driver updates ?

    4. The picture on the ASUS site shows it with a full sized 105 key, keyboard but the spec list it as an 88 key, keyboard, whos right? pic or spec?

    Basically i'm going to get the laptop, wipe it, reinstall vista, then the drivers (if availabe) and either use a replacement sticker set(can be gottten on the internet) to change the key to english language and when availabel buy a replacement english language keyboard later on down the line, and volla, a german lappy converted to an english one!

    Thats all i can think of now, what do you guys think?

    It is not out in germany either. It is coming next week. It will have a driver CD yes. Asus Support is not bad. They will bring out new drivers when there is a problem normally.
    Its a full sized keyboard with a number pad on the right side.

    You will need your own version of Vista english. The german Asus notebook will come with a recovery disk of Vista Home Premium German and the Home Premium does not have the option to change languages.

    Thanks very much wave, you put my mind at rest :) Am going to try and make a few inquiries to when it'll be availabe over here, if its soon i might just put up with the desktop for a while longer,if its a ages away i'll take the (small) risk and buy the German one. thanks again! :)
