    Hi all,
My laptop has died and will not restart. The power button just flashes although the battery does charge and the PSU seems to work OK. Any ideas on where to look please?

I've tried the standard "unplug all components, wait a while, turn around three times and spit" but even that doesn't work.

It's out of warranty so major surgery is OK but I don't want to invest in a mother-board if it's something much simpler.

All helpful suggestions will be gratefully received. Test points and voltages would be a great stating place.

    thanks for reading,

    Nostradomus

Disassemble it, put the motherboard in the oven@200 degrees for 10 minutes, wait one hour, put it back together and pray.
