So here's the story, I was on a flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong and I used my laptop briefly at the Tokyo airport before boarding. Put it into hibernate, got on the plane, put it in my carry on luggage.

I get to my uncle's house in Hong Kong and turn it on...I get a corrupt Windows registry. I forgot my charger back in Canada so I used it without charger for that time being (I have a charger in Hong Kong.)

I put a Windows XP SP2 disc in to try and fix the corrupt registry, boot from the CD...it says the disc is missing some file and cannot continue with setup (before it reached that blue windows install prompt.)

All this time maybe 30 mins of trying to fix it in Hong Kong I didn't plug in my charger (as my cousin had it on business since he uses an A8J as well.)

After that message and the disc in the drive, it just shut off by itself and hasn't been able to boot ever since, although the battery charges when I plug in my charger.

I press the power button now and nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! As a last resort, I will take it to Asus Canada when I am back in the city.
