Not sure anyone can help me - I'm from Australia and just go myself a nice A8jm laptop last night. Only issue is that I was using a PCMCIA modem - connected to my old ASUS laptop - to hook up to iBurst.
I found out that this new lappie does not support the old PCMCIA card.

Is there anyway that I can connect to iBurst by anyother means? ie. I have been told to go and buy a Sierra MC5720 PCI express card that will do the job, but I did not want to go out and buy blindly until I know exactly this can replace the old PCMCIA card, and let me hook up to iBurst. Also I just want to be mobile as I travel very often. Any tips appreciated.

there is no other option but to but an express card version of the modem. There is a USB pcmcia adapter but they are lik 400 bucks or more.

    Thanks SRD.

Is there any specific express card of the modem available in the market that you can recommend?

LOL i guess i didnt read to carefully. OK so thats an EVDO card. so your using a cdma phone. Novatel X620 EV-DO ExpressCard is one card. I dont even know if they are out yet. Do you have a evdo capable phone and if so it might be better to just get a bluetooth module for your laptop and connect through the phone. If youc carrier allows that. Thats what i do with mine even though verizon doesnt want people to.

As only 1 carrier in Australia (Telstra) currently has the mini express card modem, I did not want to change as they are very expensive in terms hardware and the wireless prices. I have been told to wait until end of June for some of this technology to pick up "Down Under". So not happy Jan...(
