Wondering if anyone know the bluetooth chipset build in these latest ASUS notebooks (BT v2.0 + EDR) supports these profiles:
A2DP for advanced audio (stereo),
AVRCP for remote control and Bluetooth headset and hands-free profiles.
Anyone out there tried it with bluetooth headsets for listening to music and skype?

The BT 2.0 certainly does help with music transfer and also two-way communication like with skype benefits from it as well. As far as those two functions, I'm not 100% aware, but you honestly may be able to research this at bluetooth.org....

It was awhile ago when I looked into doing this and from memory it was dependent on the drivers you used....essentially if you want to do audio then dont use ms drivers, will need to install the Widcomm ones. Here is the link to a fourm on doing that http://forum.skype.com/viewtopic.php?t=10822.
NB: I never bothered tring this cause I only had a ms dongle, figure I would wait a bit for bt2 and headsets made for wireless skyping to be released...which there now is thanks to motorola!

Thanx Justin. Disappointed you don't have a concrete answer. I bet you clients will come up with these questions very soon.
Thanx Underpantman. Will try to read them all.
Anyone have a better answer? Because bluetooth.org will drive you nutz if you try to find anwers there with their millions of pdfs.
Some info: Logitech, I-Blue, Jabra, Plantronics and so on are coming out with A2DP ready headsets.
Hope to see someone look into these soon for the benefit of people like me thinking of buying Asus notebook with BT v2.0+EDR. Thank you.
