    Hi Folks,

Recently I have been having this problem that my laptop screen will black out. Most of times, i would restart and it will be ok. But recently I noticed few things.

Whenever I would play a game or multiple video files, it will go black out

Whenever I would run an application with high cpu usage, it will go black

There is a streak of a red line along the left pane of the screen.

Sometimes I will restart it and it will again go blank, other times it works...

Having read the forums, i rolled back to an older version of the graphics card driver. still same issue.

I have windows 7 and Vista both ultimate versions, and they both encounter same issue. so i know it is a hardware issue..

i also left a loop mp3 file running to see if it is graphics related issue, but when black out happened, the mp3 sound changed to errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr like it was stuck or something...

I did mem test and it came out no errors found

pls help and advise what can i do from here....

    Thanks heaps...

Your card is probably dying. Read the 9600M GT replacement thread and get yourself an upgrade.

I got the card checked out and it was working well in another c90s. no issues there... tried the other c90s graphics card on mine.. same prob...

moreover.. I dun think that the sound output will be effected if it was the graphics card.. the mp3 file stopped and gave an errrrrrrr sound.... when the screen went black...

Hmm. Have you checked your power supply? Perhaps it is faulty?
