Hey Justin, do you by any chance have a picture of the carrying bag and sleeve that the ASUS notebooks come with?

Well they are different for every system..... and only the ensemble notebooks come with an extra sleeve.....
I know Andrew here at Notebook Review is going to get a review up of one of our V6v's shortly.... and the bag and sleeve will be noted.. I don't have mine with me right now, but maybe someone with a V6 could post their pictures..... if no one posts any, I'll take some tomorrow for you.
Thanks,
Justin

I found this one on notebookforums:

EDIT: Image was way too huge. Luckily your browser will probably resize it to a manageable size for you when you click that link.

Yep that's the one [
] Still can't work out how to post my own though?? The one that you have there is just link to another webpage isn't it?
-
It is a bit huge, isn't it? I just linked it with HTML from the image posted on notebookforums. It's kind of overwhelming though, isn't it? Maybe I'll just regular link it so people don't go cross-eyed.

Yeah, you can't attach an image. You have to link to an image you've uploaded somewhere else. You can use HTML to sort of embed the image in the forum page, but you can't actually attach them I don't think.

Umm, you could try image shack or something. I don't really know of too many. Somebody else might be able to recommend smoething better, but it seems a lot of people are using http://www.imageshack.us
The nice thing there is it looks like you don't have to register for an account.

By the way, if anyone is interested in this sexy thing: http://oakley.com/o/o1516d I've contacted a retailer about it and been informed that it will in fact fit a 14" WS or 15" regular notebook in spite of what is recommended on the Oakley site. That means it will fit the V6V or the W3V. I gave the guy the exact dimensions of both notebooks and he said it would be fine.
I'm asking for it for my birthday. Woo!

Ooops, I guess I posted that in the wrong thread. Sorry. [
] I was aiming for the "official" z71v thread. [:I]

PROportable - do you know how small text will appear on the z71v's screen? I know from researching the Dell i6000 that some people are bothered by small text on WSXGA screens, and others think it's just fine. Maybe this question is impossible to answer. [
] BTW this desktop I'm using has about a 15 inch monitor, and it's set on 1024x768 resolution. The highest available resolution is 1280x1024, and when I tried it out just now everything looked, well, pretty small. WSXGA+ resolution is even higher than 1280x1024, correct? So will the z71v's screen have even smaller text etc. than this monitor on highest resolution? I can see it, but it's smaller than I'm used to. I don't know how much smaller I could go comfortably.
I am leaning towards the z71v right now because A. I like it better than the Dell...just a style/prestige thing. Some people hate Dells, personally I have no problem but I happen to like the z71v better. B. It seems more trimmed down than the i6000. Not as many random programs on there, perhaps. C. It comes with 533mHz RAM and a nicer video card than the i6000.
So far, the only advantage the Inspiron 6000 might have is battery life (I LOVE battery runtime...must come from my hobby, R/C cars), price (Dell always has massive discounts), and wireless options (Dell offers wireless adapters other than the sometime-unreliable IntelPRO wireless).
Another random thing. I'll be taking whichever laptop I buy to college, where I assume there will be high speed internet to connect to. If it's wireless then there's no problem. But if things are hard-wired, what kind of port do I need to hook up a laptop to the internet? Does the z71v have such a port? Maybe there's no such thing. I'm a PC noob in some areas. [:I]
Thanks everyone for listening to my thoughts. Any input is appreciated. []
