My brother and I have been scoping this ASUS 1215B out because of the price, minimal gaming capabilities and mainly because of the mobility. We mostly play RIFT from time to time and have read on a review that it runs RIFT just fine. So my main question is; can the 1215b be expandable to 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory? I have read that it can be done and works perfect after being upgraded to the 8GB.
I was wondering if anyone has any hands-on experience of doing this yet? Or some solid proof (other than someone posting it on a review) that it can be done. Spending almost $100 dollars on the RAM to see it not work and not being able to return it would just be a complete waste of money.
Thanks!

Since the E350 processor's memory controller is single channel, you can install any combination of memory modules you like (the modules do NOT have to be identical sizes; mixing sizes has no effect on performance).
I installed an additional 4GB memory module, taking the 1215B up to 6GB. The memory I used is: Corsair 4 GB DDR3 Laptop Memory CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9. -
^^ does windows 64bit on 1215B see whole 4-6GB of ram? is it all USABLE?

^^ heres is a screen from msi wind u270 which is exact the same as 1215b.... 4 gb of ram but only 3.6 usable on 64bit os. so u can put 8gb... and no use of it, since only 3.6 gb will be available.
edit: here is a video of actual 1215b..... only 3.61 gb available. so if u put 6 or 8gb... its waste of money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCBwuzOQUp8Attached Files:

Amd Fusion E350 is going to be anemic if running games. (I know since I use to have x120e/dm1z). The Radeon 6310 card in the APU is a decent card but the cpu bottlenecks and slows it down.
If you are serious about gaming I suggest grabbing a base m11x r1 for less than $550. -
I own a Thinkpad X120e which runs on the same platform and the first thing I did when mine arrived was a 8GB RAM upgrade. Under Windows 7 64bit the machine recognizes it all and it runs flawlessly, so the platform is capable in accepting 8GB. In my opinion though I think it's pointless and more or less an overkill. The only reason why I upgraded is because I wanted to get the maximum performance out of this thing. If you're really serious about purchasing a 1215B then I suggest 6GB of RAM would be more than enough.
Also as benchmade42 pointed out the Alienware M11x might be a better alternative depending on your long-term goals. -
I suppose that means there is a difference between the BIOS's that limits the 1215B to 4GB? -
Are people still having troubles with the touchpad or has Asus fixed it?

This is just one of many amazon reviews that state 8gb is possible with this laptop:
And the link he was talking about where it mentions DDR3L compatibility: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bobcat/AMD-E Series E-350 - EME350GBB22GT.html
the touchpad issue arises for some, but all of them can be fixed by removing that little pad inside.
