New to forums and what a great site. Rarely do I join a forum because it seems there is little info left to obtain on the industry. As I keep up with pretty much all of it. This is a rare exception. Where it would benefit me to join. Here's my question:
I recently purchased a ASUS F3 Series F3KA-X2 NoteBook from newegg.com as they get all my business. It has great specs for the price of $799.99. Delivery is tomorrow. Dual core Turion X2 TL-58 and Ati Hd2600. One thing I can't find is reviews on this laptop. Would like to find some sites that actually go into depth as far as bios. Installed programs and the like. Even though newegg.com is a great site. It doesn't go into much detail as far as supplied programs. Or much of anything else. Every other manufacturer I looked at with the said specs are in the $1000.00+ price range. If anyone could list some sites or opinions on this laptop would be fantastic.
Also I seen where the new 65nm TL's would be able to use DDR2 800 and have yet to see where anyone has incorporated this in to a notebook. Any ideas?
One more thing. Which Hd2600 does Asus put in it's notebooks? Does it have DDR3 or DDR2? Gaming is of little concern just would like to know which.
Looking forward to be a consistent member here and thank you in advance.

Thats an excellent deal. Make sure it has 2 GB of RAM. You can upgrade to DDR2 800 SoDimms, but they are rare and expensive. It has DDR2 VRAM. It will not hinder performance that much especially since it is 512 MB of dedicated VRAM. I personally still cannot understand how Asus can sell this note book at this configuration for so cheap. You can also look at the F3KA A1 which has slightly better specs, for not so much extra.

Ordered it from www.newegg.com and for the price I imagine it's hard to beat. Processor keeps up with me. Built all my desktops and last was a E6600. This is not that of course. Still a zippy cpu. Bluetooth was a nice addition along with a good mouse but use my MX 1000 Bluethooth. Bag fits them all. Was debating this or the F3SA just figured I would save on the processor. Glad I went with this. Played a few games and graphics are smooth. Worth the $799.00 easy.

You can use AMD GPU Clock Tool to overclock the HD 2600, if you're looking for more performance.

Thanks. Was wondering if there was something for the GPU. Also what about O/C the CPU? Would like to see if it's available. Also rumors are theres hidden bios settings that can be activated. Ever heard of this? Was told this will run DDR2800 but not sure...

The 65nm Turions are very overclockable. I have an Asus A7K with a TL-56 running at 1.8GHz, and I can overclock it to 2.4GHz with Clockgen. I have to use a laptop cooler when I take it that high, though. I don't know anything about the hidden bios settings.

I think this is the cheapest gaming machine out there.

Also did the restore to use full HDD and it didn't reinstall anything but the Asus software. Used it about 2 min and then did the restore. Saw Office Trial but it wasn't reinstalled. Not sure of anything else. So for now I'll take it as a Best Bang for the Buck? Looked at every manufacturer and specs for like models were way above this.
One thing that is not Asus's problem but my Adobe Flash locks up when viewing flash pages. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing has fixed it. Even went back to another version. Googled and tried several things before posting.
The Camera Screen Saver is missing a file *.ocx and won't engage. Anyone else run into this problem?
Any suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated.
