Hey everyone, I have an ASUS F3F notebook that I love. However, for some weird reason sometimes the dvd drive will not open after I press the button. This will happen regardless of whether there is a cd or dvd in the drive or not.

Also, its design is poor because if i press under the button and in, the drive will sometimes pop open.

A friend told me that Nero could be responsible for not ejecting the dvd after pressing the button, but it happens even if i don't use nero, and I have all nero start up processes disabled.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like a hardware issue to me. Nero wouldn't cause the drive to not open, if anything it would just have burning issues. I would see if you can get the drive replaced under warranty if it bothers you enough.
