I have been using the DVI connection to watch HD by using a cable that has DVI on one end and HDMI on the other with my LCD HD tv and using the digital optical audio out for 5.1 sound and everything is great. However, I heard that some DVI's CAN pass digital audio through and since this discrete video Geforce 7600 is only 2 years old I was curious if anyone knows if it IS possible to get audio out of the DVI? Or is the optical out the only option for sound? I have played around with it with no success. Thanks!
