It took me a while to get what you were asking, but I think you want a new driver for the X1700? If you go to the download page for the A8JP on the asus site, you will find driver version 8.31 for XP and 8.33 for Vista. These are the latest availible drivers for the X1700.

    Hello,

Official ATI is not supporting x1700 card with their Mobile Catalyst control center 7.1.

But it is possible to install version 7.1 it if you follow the procedure I described here:

Turbogear thanks for your info...Quick couple of questions, do you know if at some point ati are going to support the x1700...I'm looking at getting a w2p & having an unsupported graphics card isn't cool at all....(presumably I'd have to wait for asus to get around to updating it)

I'm going to try your catalyst hack on a vista machine...do I just substitute your changes in the vista sections of the relevant files.

    Thnaks

Yes Ati will support x1700 card. I hope they will do so in the next version of ATI Mobile Catalyst. :)

I am not sure if that method works for Vista. I did not test it on Vista.

The files I have provided on that website are for windows xp.
To do that for windows Vista I think you will have to follow the manual method I provided there.
