    Hello,

Could someone please tell me how I can replace the hard drive on my ASUS F502CA? The back has some screws, but it is completely not obvious how to disassemble this machine...

    Thank you

Just remove all screws at the bottom and you can take the whole bottom cover off to access the hard drive.

Yeah...I did that...The bottom cover is not giving way at all. It's completely fastened with no real way of loosening it.

How do you suggest I loosen it, or how would you do it?

If you own one of these laptops and have opened it up exactly as you describe (by unscrewing and taking the whole back off), please let me know if there was a trick to it. Like, a hinge, or sliding, or something. If you had any sort of pictures, video, instruction, or information that would be a great help!

some Asus models has screws under the rubber feet such as N56, N76 and UX51. maybe you can try take off the rubber feet to see if there are screws under it.

I thought of that before and checked, there were no screws under the rubber feet. I can upload a picture of the back of my laptop if that helps.

Maybe it's similar to Asus S400CA that you need to slide the cover down and then lift the cover up.

Yeah it will help if you can post some pictures.

I figured this part out. You have to take the keyboard off, which is the whole front cover off and disconnect the ribbons attached to expose the hard drive.

Now if I could only figure out why the laptop only boots into the bios mode after I replaced the hard drive...That would solve my next question.

If BIOS doesn't detect Windows Boot Manager in your new hard drive it will boot straight to BIOS. Also after hard drive is replaced you will need to go to Security tab and disable Secure Boot in the BIOS.

Hi Muradin007, I have the same computer and was hoping to upgrade the RAM. I heard from reviews about the F502CA that the RAM was integrated into the motherboard and wasn't upgradable. However, the Newegg details tab says that up to 8 GB of RAM is supported. When you got the cover off, did you happen to notice an empty RAM slot or anything like that? Any info would be great as I had previously tried opening up the computer and ran into the same problem as you as far as trying to get the back off. I don't want to bother taking off the front cover and keyboard if I can't upgrade. Thanks!!
