I just spotted this article on a Czech website:
    http://digitalne.centrum.cz/cz/clan...a-touchpad-displej-tv-a-dalkove-ovladani.aspx
It's over a week old now, but no one seems to have posted it here (on NBR).

Anyways, this is the 8600GT version of the F8 (F8Sv) (for info and pics of the ATI HD2600 version click here). This picture clearly shows the nVidia sticker with '8600GT 256Mb' on it. Unfortunately, I don't know any Czech->English auto-translators, so haven't been able to make out much of the text ;). Doesn't seem to be any 3dMark06 scores, though.

    More like Czech I think

Edit: I want one of thoose! Really nice looking computer with really good performance. Is the 8600 gt ddr2 or ddr3?

How embarrasing :). I even spotted the 'cz', but it didn't twig.

Interesting review. The F8Sv almost breaks 5k in PCMark05....I didn't see any 3DMark scores, did anyone else?

Since I can't find any relationship between this thread and cori's last post, I'll just forge one myself:

Am I the only person that thinks that the F8 would look better if it had a black chassis to match the lid instead of the silver "we aren't copying HP" chassis?

    There's a Chinese review here that has some 3dmark 05/06 scores: http://www.pcpop.com/doc/0/222/222619_6.shtml

    Google translation: http://translate.google.com/transla...2/222619_1.shtml&langpair=zh|en&hl=en&ie=UTF8

It got 3467 @ 1024x768 and 2791 @ 1440 x 900 in 3Dmark06. That seems slightly better than the HD2600 in the F8SA (around 3100 @ 1280 x 768 from memory). It'll be really interesting to see how the two compare with heat and battery life.

for the moment czech tests show less than 2hrs on office work, 1hr only on dvd playback for the f8sv, and the chinese speak of max battery for f8sa approx 3hrs (actually less than 3hrs)...

both results for nvidia based note' make it "immobile" and f8sa's one makes it slightly less static creature :p

Yes, agree. Silver/Black combi is totally outdated. Only glossy white or black is in style now.

I'd rather get more precise results than 'two hours' and 'three hours'. Lets have standardized conditions and real numbers, not ballpark figures. I think they should be about the same, at 2.5 hours. The performance, in 3DMark06 at least, seems to be about the same between the two.

with the new asus free 1 year accidental coverages, im definitely getting the f8, but i hope the battery life is average (2-3hrs) for the sv..
