Does anybody have any Idea if such software exists? I need one for my N43S because max CPU temp is 91, i would like it to be 87 or lower.

I tried using HWinfo, there's no fan icon. Tried speedfan, didn't work. Tried ASUS smartdoctor, it says "cannot find ASUS graphic card" (dafuq?)

Anybody know? I have the latest BIOS. Help would be appreciated.

Wow! I logged on just to ask this question. I decided to download a program called CoreTemp after my friend said that my laptop seemed to be really hot. I was really surprised to see that I was at 70* celsius! After finding out that I have to adjust my system fan, not my GPU fan I went into BIOS to find that there are no options to adjust the fan. Let me know if you find a solution to the problem.

A lot of asus laptop use ami bios. So you can use that tool to change the fan settings. Usually this setting is not accessible, but with this tool, you can change the values.

Yup, just tried looking through N43 bios. It can be modified with 4.5version of the AMIBCP program

It should work. You'll have to take a look at the bios file and see if it supports this feature.

Please, do you know where I could find an AMIBCP tutorial, more explainations, or something mike that ?
I've seen that some bios mods could be dangerous, could brick the notebook.
    Thanks alot.

I haven't seen any tutorials yet. But the program is pretty easy to use.

    1. open up bios file
    2. change setting
    3. save
    4. flash bios

I have flashed my bios multiple times. I haven't encountered any errors yet. Although it could be dangerous and can potentially brick your laptop.

Do you think it is possible, or not for some reason, to make appear all hidden strings ?

I'm still confused what the AMIBCP is saying

I was expecting like a RPM setting for a certain temp.

Can anybody explain what does the tripoint means?

You can't control the RPM. You can only control % of the max rpm.
Usually you can only set two temperature points. Active Trip Point 1 is the first temperature. When it reach this temperature, it'll set the fan to % of max fan speed in the corresponding field. If active trip point 0 is reached, then a new fan speed (usually higher) is set. Usually this is the max fan speed.

Passive trip point is the temperature which your laptop begins to throttle.

I don't think you can make all settings appear in the bios screen. However, you can see them in the bios tool and you can change it that way.

    Hi guys,
could anyone send me a link to download AMIBCP v4.5? I tried to find it but I didn't make it. I found only AMIBCP v3.46 but I can't open and modify my bios file K43BY.221. Thanks a lot! ;)

    RW - Read & Write

    Download

    Click on embedded controller Tab

Column 00 row 90, change value to "01"

needs to hibernate or a shutdown to reset the fan to auto speed

    Hi guys!

I downloaded the AMIBCP-prog, and the latest BIOS for my UX32A-laptop straight from ASUS. I am able to to change the settings in the file, and save it - but when I use "Win Flash" to load the .rom-file, it says that the file is invalid. Wattodo?!

    Hi

I have Asus U36SG and i'm trying to force it to passive cooling while it's not under load. I modified bios with AMIBCP4.53, I set higher temperatures and lowered percentage of fan speed but there is nothing happening. Laptop isnt reacing fot the changes. I tried different bios versions (203 and 204) and deifferent values on amibcp - optimal and fail safe.

Same for my N43SN, modded BIOS and lowered trip points and changed speed to higher but nothing happens. I can get the fan maxed with NBFC or RW Everything, but I want it to be automatic :( I changed my thermal paste so my temps are not going that high the fan would work @ 100% ... only if I block all air vents by putting laptop on a blanket the temps will go 85*C+ and fan starts working ...

Anyone knows a registry hack or something for this?
