Every day when I start my computer it wants to restart to fix drive errors.
Is this common with ASUS laptops? This is my 2nd laptop. My first was a Dell and it lasted 9 years and was still working when I sold it. So ASUS is completely new to me.
Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Fixing errors as in... a scheduled CHKDSK? I've seen this happen before. There's a workaround for it via a small registry edit, but I'd like to know the timeline: what was the last thing you did before this started happening (or has it been like this from day one)?

And no, this is not common for any laptop - whether something is actually wrong with your disk drive or not.

It's been like this from day one. I've had this computer for about 3 weeks.
It's the "Action Center" that does this. While I'm here I'll ask you another question.
Where is Windows 8 on my computer? ASUS says I don't need a disk with the OS
because it's in the computer. I was wanting to install Windows 7 because I don't care for Windows 8 and my employer's website portal isn't set up for Windows 8.
When my employer gets the portal set up for Windows 8 I'd like to re-install it but with no disk how can I?
    Thank you once again.
