Which one do you think is better and why?? Do not mention the price because I know no matter what the price of alienware will be much higher.

    The 7700 512mb has a bit more power than the 7600 256mb.

There are a lot of factors you may want to consider when comparing laptops.

In my opinion this is what I think

    - Price (G1 has the most bang for the buck, IMO best 15.4" performance laptop, and the V1JP a close 2nd)
    - Styling (This is subjective, your opinion, pros and cons of both)
    - Build Quality (The quality of the G1 is definitely good, the screen is top notch)
    - Specs (well specced for the price)
    - Customer Support (ASUS North America has excellent support, have heard a lot of mixed information regarding Alienware)
    - Performance (G1 once again is the best 15.4" laptop out there right now)
    - Value (Best value in the market, plus comes with freebies!)

Some sentimental value is in favour for Alienware...but that is if you care about it, otherwise nothing.

some people said that people who bought alienware are mostly because of the good design rather than looking at the performance of the laptop itself.

2 things that come up when I hear the name Alienware
    - High performance
    - Overpriced

However styling is subjective, I personaly don't like the Alienware styling, but it think it is very clever. The G1 is also in the same boat. But when I look at the W3, V6, V1, W2 series notebook, now that appeals to me.

Just because others bought it for styling, doesn't mean you will like it, or justify that you should buy it. However if you do like the styling by all means that's kool.

So then the next thing to say is if you do like the styling, compare the Alienware to the G1, which one do you like more? And why? If your looking for justification on why you should by the M5550, well your in the ASUS forum hoping for opinion, i am trying help you decide for yourself without being biased.

I personally has bought an G1 and will get it tomorrow. I just want to hear comments from you guys about these two laptops. Just wondering if one day later ASUS will have a chance of beating up Alienware which is known as a prestigious laptop.

The alienware would compete with the G1 if it had a better or equivalent gpu. I've also havent heard many good stories about alienware costumer support.

Don't worry, at consumer lines, Alienware stands no chance against Asus. Top lines like those SLI version, asus stands no chance but they have no interest in them anyway. But if asus improve the XG dock(the way it's connected, desktop card plug in, SLI? and so), it ll definitely crush alienware if they din have support from dell. (Bias oppinion, hehehe)

Anyway, i once found alien heads very attractive, but after i found out the actual design was from someone and shared, i stayed away from them, ever.

the m5550 reviewer here which was chaz got 1 hour 30 minutes battery life set on normal.

That is worse than the 399 acer computers.

I dont dislike all alienware models, but that one is bad.

If you want an alienware save up for the 9700 or 9750, the 17 inch sli model. I like that one, it really is a performance leader.
