Lately I realized that my G1 gets slower everytime I restart the computer. From the time the ASUS G1 logo appered with the sound until the part where I have to enter the password to log into windows took a really long time.

I would like to do a fresh install of windows, however I lost my windows cd, would it be possible to get a copy of windows again? or how do I fix this??

Well of course it would be possible to get a copy of Windows.

Here's what I suggest, roughly in the order in which you could try it.

    1. If you didn't meddle with the partitions you will almost surely still have the recovery partition. Press F9 during boot if you have it, and that will restore the Windows to the state it was in when you first got the computer.

    2. If you still have the serial number from your lost Windows CD, download a Windows ISO (with the correct version, e.g., XP Home Retail) from somewhere, and use that serial -- your installation will be (nearly) legal.

    3. Buy another Windows CD.

At least the data on the first (unhidden) partition, i.e. where the WIndows is currently installed. This is when you choose Recover to 1st partition only.

I suggest moving all the useful data from the C: drive to D: and then do a recovery to the 1st partition.

Yes, of course, since the operating system has to be installed there.

I don't see how you could avoid that, except installing a new windows alongside the current one or smth like that -- and that's a patchwork solution that will end up working worse than what you currently have.
