I just got my baby last night and the first thing I installed was 3DMark 2005 and run the demo to see how this thing runs. Unfortunately, all I saw was about 2-5 frames/second on the first demo (the space war and spaceship walk)...huh??????????????????

Is my unit defective or is this ok? its like the demo is not using my video card's hardware or do I need to update the drivers or do a BIOS setting?

    Thanks

I think its just stressing your hardware to the max(could be wrong though) what was your score, that will be the telling fact.

I didn't let it run through all the way. I stopped it because I thought something was wrong. Maybe your right :(

I would like to know if this is the same performance as others have seen. The demo ran at 1024x768 but my native LCD resolution is 1680x1050.

In general, the 3DMark programs are designed to be very system intensive, so that they can get meaningful results on really high-end systems. 2-5 FPS is pretty good, especially considering that my PC generally gets less than that in 3DMark (although it should, since it only has a 6800 GS, which is older than the one that comes with the G1). I'd let the test finish, and then check the score.

Thanks for the info. Does Nvidia still make updated drivers for the GeForce Go 7700 ? I can't seem to locate the newest drivers on their web site. I only found those for the 7800 and 7900.

The 7700 is a recent addition and is not yet supported online. In fact, if you check the driver version in the G1, you'll notice it's more recent than the driver package available on Nvidia's web site.

It's normal to run very slowly in the CPU processing portion of the test. Check out my review of the G1 for the 3DMark 05/06 scores:

Also, the stock drivers are most likely the best ones. i've tried a few different newer drivers, and they aren't as good as the ones that cam with my laptop (86.02).

Did u switch off Power Safe? I ran 3dmark05 wif a 6 to 9 fps at the first demo with a 9800Pro.
Nvidia 7700 have a stock score of about 4100, when overcloak, it can go up to 5000+

And also, the demo thing is not the proper test, to get that you have to click the run3dmark test. And then you have to wait like 5-10 minutes for the different tests to finish.

When overclocking and while playing games, what is an adequate range of temperature for the GPU?
