I just got a ASUS G1 and its been one of my coolest investment I've made in a while, and after tweaking with it for a whie to make the start up and shut down faster, I now get this weird message of
"END program - Available Net" and theres' the load/thinking bar that fills up and then it ends the program, and then it finally shuts down.
Naturally, this is a bit annoying since, I dont see any processes running and I dont know what Available Net... is since there's nothing on my computer by that name, or the name is cut off so Im just confused.
IS there anyway to make shutdown just shutdown the computer? Thanks so much.

Now ZCfgsvc is not ending properly after I just happened to "check" it to start up with my computer on boot......Im so confused why it would do that.

Hmm, sympton too mysterious? Im getting leads its regarding the INtel Pro wireless. Did I get a installation CD with my laptop? I cant seem to find one...

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Antivirus software (I can confirm ZoneAlarm ISS 7.0) will give an End Program box on shutdown just as you describe, as part of it's security from tampering by outside sources. The culprit in your case is very likely something that's TSR or active in your taskbar that Windows is having to wait for timeout before continuing the shutdown process - you'll have to search it out there. I have no such problems like that with IProWireless on my unit, but it's an older version than what you're running... It does sound like it could be your wireless software drivers, however.
Next step would be to try unchecking all ProSet software from startup in MSConfig to see if you can get a clean shutdown. If the MSConfig approach fixes the shutdown problem, you've likely found your culprit - try reinstalling the ProSet drivers; you should be able to find it at Asus' site. -
My A8Jm did that at random until I upgraded to vista. Whatever program was causing it I must not have reinstalled (I never had zonealarm, and I did not reinstall the Intel wireless thing).

i can't offer any solutions or even the culprit, but just to let u know that i had the same problem when i first got my G1. i honestly dunno wot i did but after uninstallation of bloatwares, doing tweaks to registry and services etc etc the error is now gone forever
if u're planning to fine tune ur G1 just do it now and hopefully u'll be as flukey as me -
my bro had same problem.
i think its the intel wireless program that is pre-installed. -
go to start > Run > msconfig > startup deselect all the pro wireless options.. then go to services and deselect all pro wireless options there. restart and see if that did the trick.
ASUS G1: When shutting down I get "End Program - Available Net..." What is this? Anyway to stop it?
