    Hey all!

I got my G1S on June 18th, awesome laptop!

    The performance completely impressed me!!

Two things (both with the keyboard)
    1) Anyone notice that the space key doesnt work if you press the very edge of it (right most edge.... very annoying)
2)I'm already seeing my keys get worn in, and the finish is being sanded out. I clean my laptop daily including the keys trying to get this wear off - hoping it's grease (which doesn't make sense since I always clean my hands... I'm kind of a germ freak)... It's only been 2 months and my keyboard looks like it's a year old!!!

Will asus replace my keyboard? What can I do?

I'm in a position with my school where I can't go without my laptop for any amount of time as a laptop is REQUIRED for classes... so it kind of f*cks me over.

Anyway... I'm wondering if you guys have any insight on the matter.

    Thanks!

No weird space bar issue, and I can't say that the keyboard is worn out after a month of use.

If you keep clean the keys everydau, of course they're gonna get worn down. That's more effective than actually using them.

Check the modifications section. You can use clear sticky labels to help protect your keyboard.

imo Asus' keyboard is mediocore in quality and function. Reminds me of an old compal I had that was discolored all over the place where I typed. Use an external keyboard if you want to reduce the wear on it.\

Clean your laptop in moderation. It will live longer.

ok... i really don't clean it every day

In fact I only cleaned it once (when I saw it was worn down...I thought it was grease).

It still doesn't make sense how the keys would be worn out of typing??

Does anyone else use those key protectors?

Nah, its happened to me on my laptops as well after about a month too, I was also shocked at first but realized its just a thing I need to sadly accept. Maybe I will get a keyboard protector on my next lappy.

From my experiences with a Toshiba laptop i would suggest you that u dont clean the keyboard or anything else that often. Use compressed air when possible and dont use things such as rubbing alcohol (i took all of the finish off of my Toshiba doing that)
