I am really happy with my G1S however for the last few weeks I am having problems with the speakers. Under Vista I have to up/down volume from the taskbar a few times to get sound, most of the time it does not work. Under Windows 7 Beta, no sound at all from the speakers. Headphone output works fine under Vista and Windows 7 beta. I also set the volume to max in BIOS.
I am guessing it's a driver issue but not sure. any advice?
Thanks..

It could be a driver issue, and reinstalling the audio drivers would be the first thing you should try.

I did actually. I re-installed the drivers, even tried the previous version of the drivers. Still same issue. i am downloading Ubuntu LIVE CD now to see if I can get sound from the speakers..

ok. here is an update. I used Ubuntu Live CD and the speakers works fine. I booted into Windows 7 and there is no sound from the speakers (only headphone output). I booted into Vista and uninstall the drivers, installed the drivers from Asus website. Still no sound from the speakers..
Any suggestions what to try next?
