the problem i am having is when i turn the computer on the monitor wont come on but i have sound and the hard drive works. I have open the computer up and have change the BIOS battery. After i did that the computer monitor worked. Now once in a while the monitor wont come on and have to to keep pulling that battery and plugging it back in. There are times that with pulling the battery and putting it back in the monitor wont come on. After a few mins i will finally be able to get it back on. If someone please help me with the issue i would appreciate it.

nope, just start with the outside on the bottom, take the memory cards out and the hard drive, after u get all those screws out, take off the monitor (make sure to disconnect the wires on the wireless card to the monitor), and then the keyboard. also make sure that u take the two screws out in the processor area. once u have all the screws out, open it up, take the screws off the mother board and flip it over and u will see the battery.

u need a small flat head screw driver and right between the crack and the delete, F8 and esc keys are little sliding clips slide them up into the crack

The problem seems to be caused by a BIOS glitch. I would suggest try a BIOS update to a newer version.

As an alternative to removing the battery, assuming it's just a screen problem and not a GPU problem (although it is more likely to be the latter, if the BIOS is at fault):
Plug into an external monitor, boot and enter BIOS using F2 at the ASUS splashscreen, and then apply the option Reset to Defaults, save and reboot. It might work.

Alternatively, write down the key sequence to Reset to Defaults, when the notebook is working. ;) And then use it when the problem appears.

If there is no BIOS update and this happens often, I suggest send it to ASUS for repairs. Although they may just do the BIOS reset themselves, it's actually more likely that they will replace the motherboard, which is likely to fix the problem.
