I am connecting my ASUS G1S-A1 laptop to a 37" LCD HDTV through a VGA cable at a resolution of 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz. The main laptop screen is disabled.

I am using the default installed drivers from ASUS.

When I play games I can notice much slower performance. In 3DMark06 I am only getting a score of 1937 while connected to the HDTV. That's half the normal score I usually get when running on the native screen.

Is this normal? Am I missing a setting? Driver problem?

Is the screen only closed or HDTV set as primary and LCD disabled in the nvidia control panel?

The HDTV is set as the primary display, and the laptop monitor is disabled in the nvidia control panel.

    I found the problem.

My power plan was set to battery saving, instead of high performance, doh!

I also set my card to 525/775 for good measure and got 4350 in 3Dmark06
