When we plug the charger into the wall the light is a steady green. When it is then plugged into the laptop the light flickers light green on the charger and it gets hot at the plug in sight on the lap top. The battery is now complety dead and the computer will not start. What should I do? I bought it at Best Buy and its under warrenty, should I take it there or ship it to ASUS direct?

Thanks, I appreciate any help you can give me

Welcome to the forum - sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds like this is either a bad power supply or the motherboard plug connection is bad (I'm leaning toward the former right now).

First thing I would do is take it into BestBuy and ask if you can plug it into one of their display model power supplies to see if that starts to charge the battery (if so, then your PS is shot and you can call Asus for a new one). Else, if not then call Asus' tech support for RMA on your G1 - Asus handles all the warranty work for their units sold through BestBuy.

    Good Luck!
